Weekend ScheduleWestern Cup is Apollo's annual multi-sport tournament. In 2011 we will celebrated the 29th anniversary of Western Cup - the longest running annual LGBT multi-sport tournament in North America. Apollo was formed in 1981 after a small group of individuals came together with the idea to create an athletic social group for LGBT people in the Calgary area. During that first year an invitation was extended to a similar group of people in Edmonton to play volleyball in Calgary and the first Western Cup was born. And now each year, we attract over 500 athletes to participate and socialize during Easter weekend – come out and join the fun! All social events take place at the host hotel (TBD).
