Mosaic Badminton is excited to announce this year’s badminton tournament at Western Cup on Saturday, April 4, 2026!​

Registration for badminton at Western Cup 42 opens up on January 3, 2026 at 10:00 AM MST.

Join us over the Easter long weekend (April 3 - 5) for the 42nd edition of Western Cup, North America’s longest-running LGBTQ+ multi-sport festival. Whether you are from Calgary, Edmonton or anywhere beyond, come celebrate in the spirit of community, inclusivity and fun.
TOURNAMENT
This year's tournament will focus on Doubles - Open (No gender specific) competition for Adults of Any Age and All Skill Levels.
Medals will be award in 2 or 3 divisions depending on the number of registrations. You may sign up as an Individual participant or as Doubles partners.

Format:
Doubles - Open (All gender combination)

Two games in the Preliminary Round to seed teams into different divisions

At least one game in the single elimination round

Individual players will be paired with another player of similar skill level throughout the entire tournament

Doubles players will play with their respective partners throughout the entire tournament

Badminton World Federation Laws of Badminton applies

Equipment:

Tournament sanctioned plastic shuttlecock (Mavis 350 Green) will be provided

Bring your own racket, no rentals will be available

Non-marking gym shoes are required

Registration:

$60 per individual + fees and GST
-
If registering as Doubles, each participant must register and provide the name of their partner during the registration period​

Registration closes at 11:59:59 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
