Tournament Information

Western Cup XL runs March 28–31, 2024.

The Western Cup XL Volleyball tournament is hosted by Spectrum Volleyball Calgary and will run over two days:

Day 1: Round-robin games

Day 2: Playoffs and finals (double elimination)

Teams will be be guaranteed four (4) round robin games, and playoffs will be double elimination. During round robin, all teams will be required to referee games within their division, and on the second day, referees from Volleyball Canada will be onsite to call playoff and final games.

Numbered jerseys and non-marking shoes are required for each player in Western Cup XL Volleyball.

Teams/players must self-rank for divisions as noted in the Divisions list above. More information about each division's requirements is listed on the registration portal, linked at the bottom of this page.

Roster Review

Organizers will review final rosters before the tournament; Teams may be removed if found in violation of division requirements contained in the Division Descriptions

Tournament organizers will review final rosters before the tournament starts. At this point, teams may be removed if found in violation of division requirements.

The top 3 teams in each division will be awarded with medals.

Registration Information—Single Player

Early Bird registration fee: $115 per player

Early Bird pricing ends 12:00am MST on February 1, 2024.

Regular registration fee (after February 1): $125 per player

Registration Information—Teams

Early Bird registration fee: $805 per team; $115 per additional player

Early Bird pricing ends 12:00am MST on February 1, 2024.

Regular registration fee (after February 1): $875 per team

Additional player fee (after February 1): $125 per player

Registration is per team of 7 players, and all fees are due before registration is confirmed.

There is a maximum cap of 10 players per team and there is capacity for 40 teams for this Western Cup sport.

Registration closes at 12:00am MST on March 11, 2024.

Zero Tolerance Policy

This event is inclusive; promoting a safe space with zero tolerance for hate speech, discrimination, intimidation, threats, and any other disruptive behaviours. This includes cheating or downplaying your abilities, and any unsportsmanlike conduct. Spectrum Volleyball Calgary reserves the right, without warning, to remove teams or players from the event if found in violation of the Zero Tolerance policy. If found in violation of the above, no refunds will be provided, and teams and/or players may be banned from participating in future events.

Please note credit card payments will be charged a 2.9 percent fee.

In lieu of credit card payments, email money transfers can be sent to registration@spectrumvolleyball.ca. Please set the money transfer password to "Western Cup".

Once payment is confirmed, you will be officially registered for the tournament.

All Volleyball registrations include a ticket to Western Cup Dance XL.

All other nightly social events are included free of charge for everyone.
